    How could I miss THAT?!
Things soooo not going as planned.

Barry: Quite a few years ago, Linda Hartling of Wellesley initiated a number of studies regarding resilience. The research was solid, and the conclusion was firm. Resilience is not a unique form of individual toughness "endowed to the lucky few," but a toughness strengthed through relationships that emphasize mutual growth.

I absolutely agree with your remark Dan. Very well put. Resilience is a learned trait by strengthening of character through relationships that inspire mutual growth and life situations that present challenges that inspire empowerment and increasing spiritual strength.

Thanks Dan, Sharon. Also of note, is the research that Salvatore Maddi and Suzanne Kobasa did ("The Hardy Executive: Health Under Stress" ISBN:0-87094-381-2), in identifying Control, Challenge, and Committment as the three essential components of learned hardiness/resilience.

But *they* didn't write a Haiku about it!
