Hey Barry,
It's never easy to say "I need help!" and it's even less easier to say "I need help from someone with more knowledge, skills, experience, etc. than I do." Your article provides very useful steps for taking the step to find a mentor easier.
Thanks,
Cassandra
Thanks for the post, Cassandra. Is that really true, though? Is it never easy? From a coaching perspective, it might be helpful for you to take a closer look at what that's about. What do you believe that asking for help says about you? How does realizing that make you feel? Now contast this with what you have to gain from "someone with more knowledge, skills, experience, etc." Linger in these two contrasting spaces for a bit and see if anything shifts inside you.
Please know that I don't mean to put you on the spot, here. Your comment provided me with an excellent opportunity to frame how someone might begin to investigate their underlying beliefs on an issue and I felt that others could quite possibly benefit from that. So thanks for that, too.
