Rainy Day Wisdom

What the rain has to say about dreariness,
exuberance, and getting yourself going
again - especially on those days when
you just don't feel like it.

Sometimes you really DO need a little
extra motivation, don't you?

Of course you do!

Have you ever lost an entire weekend because fear, anxiety, or the blues sunk their teeth into you and just wouldn't let go? Maybe something happened on Thursday or Friday and - bam! - there you were, unable to get yourself back on track until sometime on Sunday afternoon.

Or maybe it hits you when you have an important deadline, time-sensitive project, big meeting or major presentation coming up. Or maybe it comes in anticipation of some sort of family or social event that, for whatever reason, you just don't want to attend.

Whatever the cause, you know that's not the issue. The real issue is that something triggers a quick and powerful bolt of lightning that ignites ... and you just cave. Try as you might, you can't muster one iota of energy to get yourself going again. Try as you might, you ultimately end up just giving in and letting the thing run its course.

... the storm rolls in ... it takes its toll ... and then rolls out ...
leaving you feeling lousy about yourself, and having that much less time to do what you still need to get done.

If you're like many, it's an all-too-familiar scenario

So okay, maybe it's not like that for you. Maybe it's not quite so dramatic. (Make no mistake, though, a LOT of people really DO suffer from this Lost-Weekend phenomenon and if you're one of them, you know what it's about and how terrible it feels.) Maybe your symptoms aren't so severe. Maybe you don't lose an entire weekend. Maybe you just lose half a day. Or an evening. Or you can't get a good night's sleep. Maybe for you, the symptoms show up as:

procrastination inattention impatience
boredom listlessness inconsiderateness
forgetfulness irritability negative self-talk

But the pattern is probably not much different

... the storm rolls in ... it takes its toll ... and then rolls out ...
leaving you feeling lousy about yourself, and having that much less time to do what you still need to get done.

But it doesn't have to be that way.

You CAN take control.

And it all starts with gaining perspective.

What is Perspective?

According to the Miriam-Webster dictionary, "It's the interrelation in which a subject or its parts are mentally viewed ... a point of view ... the capacity to view things in their true relations or relative importance." And changing your point of view is what Rainy Day Wisdom is all about. This creative and engaging read is specifically designed to get you out from under that cloud and back to where you can be your Absolute Best. Don't let a little foul weather take you out of your game. Use it to help you learn a bit more about yourself and what moves you to action.

What is Action?

Miriam-Webster again: "a thing done : DEED b: the accomplishment of a thing usually over a period of time, in stages, or with the possibility of repetition." Now isn't that the point?! So here's a chance to do yourself a favor. Here's a chance to learn how to get back into action more quickly. Order (and read!) your copy of Rainy Day Wisdom today.
